In 2024, adhering to the philosophy that “high-end instruments are perfected through practical application” and that technological innovation must align with market demands, Novel Optics established the Demonstration Center for Industry-University-Research-Application of High-end Domestic Microscopes in collaboration with the School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. The center is open for free reservation and use on the university’s instrument sharing platform.

Since its launch, the center has formed a positive two-way interactive operation mechanism. High-performance microscopes support users’ scientific research, while practical feedback from users guides the iterative R&D and upgrading of enterprise equipment. The platform maintains regular online exchanges and offline seminars with Novel Optics. The company provides professional technical guidance and instrument maintenance services for research users. Meanwhile, the platform encourages users, especially those with operating experience of mainstream international microscopes, to conduct comparative analyses and put forward optimization suggestions based on practical usage and experimental results.

To date, more than 10 professional training sessions have been held, covering over 100 participants. The fully open and barrier-free usage framework greatly boosts user enthusiasm and instrument utilization efficiency. Taking the NCF1000 confocal microscope, the most popular device on the platform, as an example, its three-month cumulative operating hours have reached the same level as imported peer instruments on the platform, fully proving the reliable performance of high-end domestic microscopes.
